Lounging by the pool

We've had a pretty slow summer so far....

We spend a couple days a week in the backyard. Brodrick loves the pool and runs to the back door a couple times a day... And says 'side'... 'deez... poo'

That means, "Outside! Please mom! I want to go outside and get in the pool!" :)

We can't keep Abner (B calls him "abbey") and Annabelle out of the pool. Anytime we jump in, they're doing the same thing!

I've never met little dogs that like swimming as much as our little guys!  When I don't let them out (because it can get a little crazy with two dogs a baby and me) they flip out... scratching at the door and barking at the fence on the other side of the lawn.

Brodrick is ob-freaking-sessed with the water!
I never thought I'd get tired of water... and especially the pool but EVERYDAY I have to get in the pool, the bath, play in the sink or  (watch for the dreadful toilet trauma) battle him to stay out of the toilet. It's pretty much my other full-time job.  ugh. But it IS cute!! :) I LOVE that I have a little fish for a hubby and baby.

Love you family!

I'll attach pics to this post soon... this is really just a test... so see if I CAN really post from my cell. :) ((Apparently it worked.. and here are the pictures))

Wolverine premiere... awesome.

Well HELLO Hugh!

Monday we scored tickets to the the World Premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It was awesome.
Hugh rode in on his motorcycle!

We got there late and were a little frustrated because all our friends were near the stage. We were stuck behind the security line (they shut it off like 20 minutes before we got there). We were stuck back with a bunch of onlookers even though we had a wrist band to get in...

Luckily.... we finally got through and found the BEST spot on the red carpet!! Here are a few of the peeps we met....

Ryan Reynolds. (I know.. my camera malfunctioned.. bad shot. Grr)

Lynn Collins...

Hey Hugh... what's up!! He's obviously ready for his close up...

Alice Cooper...

Guy from American Idol? The blind one... sorry, that's not very PC.

We had a blast!
Thank goodness the sitter was able to stay 'til 10:30. Late night for a weekday (at least for us...) :)

Chris is getting old... er

Happy Birthday Babe!! I love you very  much!
Chris turned 31 on  April 2nd.

His parents and Matt were here to celebrate.
I made the cake... I'm quite the little Martha Stew
art... err. Maybe not :)

Brodrick kind of took over. After Chris blew out the candles Brodrick kept tried to re-blow them out. So we lit them again and let him have a go. Luckily... no spit hit the cake.

Chris got a long board (which he found AND rode before his birthday!), a couple games, cash clothes and... some new camping gear (since he got called to YM & Scouts).  He put the tent up in the play room (we call it the 'pentagon' because it's shaped like one) to play in... and Matt decided to sleep in it for a couple nights.

I LOVE MY BOYS!
Happy Birthday love. Don't worry... I'm just a few years behind you. I'll catch up one day. :)

Mom's night out... fun AT the Suns!

My bishop and his wife gave us a pair of tickets to the Suns/Jazz game.

Since Chris is now in scouts... he couldn't make it... so I invited Jenn! She's a sports lover and I figured she would be up for it. I figured right!

Her hubby was already planning to go (since he's a sports photog) and she had been looking into buying a ticket for herself.

We had great seats! 12th row right behind the basket. Not too shabby. Thanks bishop!

It was fun!! Here's the ESPN recap in case you're interested :) The Suns won...

I'm a Suns fan (even though I was born and raised in Utah) and it was awesome to see Shaq, Nash and the rest of the gang in action.
We were close enough to get the idea of how dang tall these guys are... and Shaq doesn't look as clumsy in person. :)

Chris took Brodrick to scouts with him. I hear they had a good ole' time...

Grass is icky...

Ah, Arizona grass. It's not the best... but at least it's not snow.

Brodrick and I stopped by the park by our new house (woo hoo for our new house!) We ran to the park and then I let Brodrick loose on the infant-sized playground. He liked the swing... the slide was okay... the playground mediocre at best.

But he LOVED the dead grass!

For some reason our new park doesn't water the grass in the Winter so the grass is crispy. So he kept throwing himself on the grass and rubbing his face in the dead grass and giggling.

I think it reminds him of the new (and not so attractive) beard that Dad is growing because he makes the same face when Dad rubs his beard on his face.  By the way, I'm protesting Chris' beard... so I won't be posting any pictures of it. :)

Brodrick's BIG ouchie!

One day after his big birthday... Brodrick fell (more like threw himself) and hit his head on the fireplace. It was horrible! Luckily grandpa Bement was with me and he helped me rush Brodrick to the ER. Look how sad!

The only time he calmed down was when I pointed out the fish in the fish tank... or sat on a baby sofa with him in front of a little TV. As long as Hannah Montana was on, he stopped crying (he likes blondes).

Chris met us at the hospital. Our little man was sooo upset. It was sad to see him in pain and all bandaged up.

He was crying and clinging to an unopened Capri Sun. I think it helped him because it was still cold. He was REALLY upset... until... he got drugged.

The doctor gave him something he nicknamed 'baby valium.'

Brodrick became a happy drunk...

And then
he was a fidgety little drunk..

And finally a sleepy drunk.

And, boy was he loopy. A few hours... and seven stitches later we were able to go home. He's a trooper.

Wondering how it happened. Here's the story:
The day after his first birthday, Brodrick and I were upstairs where he spends 90% of his life these days because of the dangerous tiled flights of stairs, glass top table, expensive art etc.

He was thirsty so I gave him some juice (100% juice from Capri Sun, i.e. 'crack for babies').

I must have dropped the straw on the way up the stairs so I turned around to look for it and he thought I was taking it away so he threw himself on the brick fireplace and hit his forehead on the inner corner... the only part that wasn't protected with baby safety rubber.

This is video of Chris cheering up our doped up little man.

Argh! It's Brodrick's 1st Parrrty!

Brodrick's big pirate party at the park! We had some of our close friends (and Grandpa, aunt Charla & Viliami even came!) meet at the Sunset park to celebrate B's big day.

After weeks of planning, hours of setting up, cooking, making goodie bags and crafts, it was all set! And then the wind came... and a bit of rain. But that didn't stop us!

We dragged the food table under the pavilion and kept the pirate flags raised. We stuck around a couple hours... long enough to eat our pirate food, open some awesome presents and have the wind blow out the candles on the cake.

Actually, the cake was the funniest part. Brodrick was a little apprehensive to eat the his smash cake at first.

He kept sticking his pointer finger in the frosting and eating it carefully.

Then dad showed him how the big boys eat cake. Chris grabbed Brodrick's hand and stuck it in the cake. There was no stopping him after that!

He devoured it! Yummy! Then Chris learned a bit from Brodrick... and stuck HIS face in the cake! I love my boys!

Happy Birthday Brodrick!  I love you!
